Re: Welcome Norway!

Jeg lurer på, hvordan blir zoner valgt ut når dere etablerer et området? Har dere scouts - eller bruker dere Google Maps til å finne områder?

Re: Feature Request - Cache Map Data

I think this is a great idea. But I'm not sure how technically feasible it is to implement. Turf uses Google Maps and I don't think Google allows caching the map data.
The Google Maps have different sets of APIs - which one are you using?

Re: Block for "carturfing"?

Then one of the zones I suggested, Munkholmen in Trondheim, is really nice. You either need to take the boat or swim. :D I was talking to a friend of mine about zones and we both wanted to see more zones in wooded areas, by nice tracks around the forest and by the beach. Seems very nice indeed. An ...

Thoughts about the app

Using the app for a few days now - there are a couple of things I'd like to see: Easy toggle on/off for sound Easy toggle for pro mode (like, small icons on the main screen you can push to toggle these.) Caching of the map for the region. (I mention this in a separate thread earlier.) Setting: Pro m...

Re: Make your own phone-holder for your bike

Back on topic, phone holder: Check out iMaterialise 3d printing service. I used them earlier this year, when browsing the sites I noticed one of the examples for ASB: http://i.materialise.com/materials/abs One of them was a GPS holder. You can custom fit it for whatever need you want - just model i...

Re: Block for "carturfing"?

The obvious solution to this is of couse to make more zones be a certain distance from roads! Most cities have small paths in the nearby woods or mountains, and making some high value zones here will really encourage "trekking" to off-road places. This is why You turfers can suggest placements of z...

Re: How to play Turf (FAQ)

What's the GPS bonus? As long as it's active the takeover time is shorter? (how can you even take a zone without it? triangulation by WiFI?)
If the GPS bonus fixed or does it increase?

Re: Norway <-> Sweden Turfing (Data traffic)

In Norway it's either Telenor's or NetCom's network being used. Other providers uses their network. Coverage Maps: Telenor: http://www.telenor.no/privat/dekning/dekning_data.jsp NetCom: https://netcom.no/dekningskart Tele2 uses - or used - NetCom's network - but they say they are starting to build t...
