Messaging other Turfers?

How about a way to message other Turfers when looking at their profile in the app?
And a chat function in a group?

The first has been suggested many times, It would be so simple, but nothing so far.
(You do know that you can click earlier chat rows to reply to that player?)

Chats per supporter or league groups have also been requested but is less likely due to complexity, and possibly moderation/harrasment issues.

I couldn't see any info on the app, the web page or wiki about how to chat. But heard from a turfer that typing the Turfers name (with correct uppercase/lowercase) followed by : will send them a message

The message will get through regardless, but if you add the turfer's nick as you suggested then he/she will get a "new message" notification. You have three chats: region, country and world. Everyone have world. Region and country is based on the last zone you took (as oppose to the region and country top lists which are based on where you have taken the most zones). To send chat messages to folks in other regions or countries than your own you need to use the country or world chat. Also notice that newbies who has not yet taken a zone only have world chat.
