The use of Google maps offline

Post by rage »

There is a thing that I think should have bee fixed a long time ago.
Sometimes when I'm out turfing there is a bad reception on the phone and it would help if the maps would not need to download where ever you go.
For the most time it works, but why have you not thought of using Google Maps offline?
This would improve turfing experience all over and if going on a vacation abroad, save a buck not downloading the maps just when taking a zone. I selected an area as offline map for my region to try if Turf uses these maps, but I suspect not because it did not improve my experience at all. Mostly loosing reception when train turfing and that is not great. Some parts of Sweden does not have a good reception. And that's why the Turf app has to improve. Don't you agree?

Turf actually caches the maps already. So if you are planning to go to an area where there is bad reception or you want to save on the roaming data, open the app and go to the look on the area before you leave. Don't forget to zoom in to the wanted level.

Please note that you still need reception to be able to take the zone.
