Germany why so few players?

Fresh calculations per today: according to https://wiki.turfgame.com/sv/wiki/Europa Germany has 1960 turf zones and according to recent Turf toplist 69 players. This means every player in Germany - per today - has over 28 zones for him/herself.

This isn't me complaining but just curious why Turf isn't more popular in Germany and why it doesn't seem to catch any attention? And if there could be any ideas to spread the game?

Could be because the country was totally desterted (turfwise) for 10 years. It was horrible, closest zone was several hours away with car. It's getting better but most people are buzy on Strava now, not interested in the stop/go of turf.
