New zones for Barrow

Post by Luthien »

Hi
Please could we have some new zones in Barrow (South Cumbria)? They've been designed to make various circuits and to start connecting to the next town (Dalton) :)
I've suggested them through my app (Luthien) and they are as follows:
BayHorse. Bay Horse pub car park (no barriers)
BarrowGolf. Barrow Golf Club car park west entrance (no barriers)
Rakesmoor. Rakesmoor Farm entrance
ThwaiteCats. Cattery side road/green area
MillwoodTree. Millwood roundabout/Christmas tree
AbbeyHotel. Abbey House Hotel entrance
ShoesOutlet. Footwear factory outlet store entrance
StPauls. St Pauls Church area
FGHHeli. Near the hospital helicopter landing area
Thank you!

Thanks Fozzie (I assume!) for recent zones - we're enjoying including them.
A couple of others that would be useful are:
DL Nurseries - Dalton Lane Nurseries (little ginnel down the side of it)
HarrelCoop - Harrel Lane Co-op (links previous ones into a loop)
RedRiver - Near the Red River Club (links Roose Station to others)
AbbeyGate - Gatehouse to the Abbey (again links up Abbey zones)

And left on possible ones mentioned previously:
BarrowGolf. Barrow Golf Club car park west entrance (no barriers)
BayHorse. Bay Horse pub car park (no barriers)
Rakesmoor. Rakesmoor Farm entrance
ThwaiteCats. Cattery side road/green area

Thank you! :)

I'll take another look.

Please be aware that when placing zones, we try to avoid ones that are obviously easy to take by car (although there are exceptions that have occurred previously, or GPS variability my allow a zone to be taken by car), so your suggestions for BarrowGolf, BayHorse and Rakesmoor are never likely to be made. ThwaiteCats I'll give you - but on the grass patch on the other side of the road ;)

Ideal zones will have foot/bike access. Be a point of interest. Be at least 200M from existing zones. You will also be more likely to get requests granted if an image and/or map is provided, as sometimes it's quite hard to find the location of a specific suggestion.

A longitude/latitude position helps remove ambiguity. (Right click your mouse when using Google Maps and you can copy the longitude/latitude into your clipboard)

Here's an example of a compelling request, made by another player, that got granted in super quick time: viewtopic.php?t=17445

Also be aware that having had a couple of years of rapid zone growth in the UK, each region now has a small allocation of zones, with a fresh allocation every few months, so not all requests can necessarily be accommodated, although they will be reviewed.

Cheers, Fozzie

Thanks so much for that explanation - that makes a lot of sense. We can make sure we give more suitable zone suggestions in future.

RedRiver and DLNurseries (although renamed - we try to avoid mentioning business names) will work - coming shortly. The other two are too Car accessible, without a compelling reason for a zone at that point.
