Block for "carturfing"?

I like the idea of an timeblock for taking zones, but it doesn't have to include distance. (I suggest reduced points for the next 3 to 4 minutes.) This would also affect some of the current unjustice between walkers and bikers ..

It's not an advantage to be a "carturfer".

Sure, you can reach a singel zone faster but you have to find somewhere to park and most zones are placed in parks or green areas or at walking/bikepaths.

So timewise it's more effectiv to bike or even walk If it's a city.

why bother bring up an old thread suddenly ? u are wrong, car turfers has actually won gold a few times over the years so to say its not effective is a bit wrong sure it takes time but u can cover big areas and take zones u wouldnt have if u wouldnt play with car..

I am not a fan of car turfers. However if I’ve cycled or walked and pushed myself to take a zone and feel good
for doing it that is all that matters. If you are driving around it’s really not the same experience or achievement! What’s more I make sure when I suggest new ones they are in areas you couldn’t car turf to easily!

I wonder if you have discussed options to prevent users from going by car/mc sweeping a city. For instance: if I take a zone, all other zones could get blocked for ME for the time it would take me to take the bike/run there. Other vehicles like segway or whatever is of course a greyzone but a fast bicycle normally travel like 30-40km/h or so (if youre not a bike messenger or something). If you don't want to block, the take-points of zones nearby could get reduced when I take a zone and then it could take a certain time for them to "charge" up to 100%? Some scripts required, it all has to do with distance/speed. But IF you want turfing to be about being fysically active, this could be a good feature...

PS If I blogg about positive aspects of turfing on a very well read serious (government) blogg reaching a VERY big audience, who can I contact about validity, project background and crew?

But it's drastically slower to turf by car in Edinburgh vs a bike and now E-BIKES! If i had an ebike there would be no way a car is faster in Edinburgh.
It's a legal form of transport so there should be no issues with it. Zones are not allowed on public roads (ok some are) for safety and preventing not even needing to get out the car. So again there is no issue the Turfer still has to park and get out and walk to the zone. Which is why it's slower as you often can't park right outside a zone...
It's a little different on country zones where there is a Km between zones or more.

Cause like me they saw it on the top of the forum list and wanted to wade in... Discussion is key on a forum let it flow. Ironically I only started playing on January 14th 2022 and seen a few people spit cookie out about car turfers so the topic is still relevant.
